With the anniversary of the passing of Minnesota music legend Prince, it’s no surprise that a lot of tributes and dedications make their way to the local scene. Many radio stations played non-stop Prince, dance clubs had all night parties and First Avenue played host to many mourners from across the globe who came to pay their respects to the exterior famed golden star of Prince.
It’s no secret that seniors and those with disabilities in our community sometimes need help. There are many organizations that help those in need, and when those organizations need a show of support, it’s always great to see the community respond.
It’s the middle of winter and we have all been hibernating as much as possible from the cold weather. Yet, it’s only about a month before the Minnesota Twins officially arrive at Spring Training on February 13 with pitchers and catchers reporting. The rest of the players report on February 17. From September 16 to September 29, the Hall of Fame Tour will be at the Mall Of America. This tour combines artifacts from the Baseball Hall of Fame that is located in Cooperstown and cutting edge technology that will bring fans close to the game.

It’s the Minnesota Craft Beer Festival, held at the Minneapolis Convention Center on Saturday April 23 from 2:30 – 6:30 p.m. There will be more than 80 breweries present from Minnesota and beyond with over 220 beers. Each brewery has been asked to bring a taproom-only beer and or a rare limited-release beer. Entertainment will be provided by Erik Berry from Trampled by Turtles.
Are you into gourmet foods, fine wines and specialty beers? If so, Target Field is the place to be this upcoming weekend.
On Saturday, March 5 and Sunday, March 6, it’s Minnesota Monthly’s 22nd Food and Wine experience co-sponsored by Hy-Vee. Visitors have a chance to sample gourmet foods, fine wines and specialty beers from more than 200 vendors while enjoying the view of the baseball field and the Minneapolis Skyline from the comfort of the Metropolitan Club and the Legends Club.
Finally, cold weather has arrived here in Minnesota. Also, it’s a little over a month until Spring Training starts for the Minnesota Twins. Can’t wait until then to get your baseball fix? The Twins are once again doing their two annual events later this month.

Sure, it’s way too cold to do almost anything that requires going outside — but, almost anything does not include drinking delicious beer, especially when there are approximately 150 craft beers to chose from, and the number of samples is unlimited.
