'Project Runway' Alum Announced as Host of MN Fashion Show - Straub

Minnesota-born designer Christopher Straub has been announced as the host of Minnesota’s biggest fashion event of spring 2014: The Circle of Design runway show.

The show is being held at the Sheraton-Bloomington Hotel in Minneapolis and is presented by Dressing Room Dojo, a Lakeville Boutique that Minnesota Connected previously highlighted in this article.

The show already offers enough to get Minnesota’s fashion-loving citizens interested, insert beloved local designer and Project Runway contestant Christopher Straub, and folks will be clamoring for tickets. With Christopher announced by Dressing Room Dojo as the host and emcee, an air of celebrity is given to the show. Although Minnesota is no New York or L.A., so a show like this will create a major splash in the fashion world of the Twin Cities.

After a busy fall season for fashion in Minnesota, the spring fashion week is fairly desolate. However, Dressing Room Dojo has come to the rescue, bringing us not only a fashion show but a full-scale performance, featuring three scenes, professional dancers, and a DJ. The show will walk the audience through the life of a garment, from the early sketching stages of the designers to the point of consignment, which is Dressing Room Dojo’s specialty.

I contacted Shelly Gensmer, the Owner of Dressing Room Dojo and the Executive Producer of Circle of Design, for a statement concerning the announcement of Christopher Straub as the show’s host and emcee:

“I’m thrilled to have Christopher host the show! He’s got such a great presence over all and his talents in design make him a perfect pick.”

More information concerning Circle of Design will be featured on Minnesota Connected soon. Follow the link to visit the show’s website.
