Ready to celebrate Wednesday’s announcement that Minnesota will be getting a Major League Soccer team? Join the team at Mall of America from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday as the team prepares for the upcoming NASL season.
You might not be able to party like you’re tailgating for a Minnesota Kicks game (throwback), but you will be able to see, take pictures and get autographs from some of the players of the newly announced MLS squad which will start play in the top American professional league in 2018.
The event page on the Mall of America website says:
“The North is rising. Be a part of the movement as professional soccer barrels through the Twin Cities. First stop: Mall of America Rotunda. Join Minnesota United FC as the Loons kick off the 2015 season. Get your picture taken and get an autograph from the pros of Minnesota United FC. Don’t wait to support your local team, professional soccer is here now.”
The 2015 season opener will pit the Loons and the Tampa Bay Rowdies in Tampa on April 11. The match will be available to stream on ESPN 3 as part of a new deal between the sports giant and the 11-team NASL. Single-game and season tickets are available here.
