Miracle Basket Caught on Video in Northfield

austin basketball 2015

The Austin boys high school basketball team stayed unbeaten thanks to a highly improbable, buzzer-beating, full court shot in Northfield on Tuesday night.

With just 1.6 seconds remaining in the game, Austin trailed the Northfield Raiders by 56-54. And then, like something from out of an unrealistic sports movie, Junior Oman Oman from Austin rebounded a missed Northfield free throw, and unleashed an 80-foot prayer that found the bottom of the net just as the final horn sounded.

Austin won the game 57-56. And fortunately for us all, a cell phone camera of Oman’s miracle bucket (and the ensuing bedlam) made it to YouTube.

The Austin Packers went to 4-0 with the bucket (they are now 5-0)  and, apparently, are favored by the basketball gods.

Also, Brent's nemesis is Burt Reynolds, though Mr. Reynolds is likely unaware of this rivalry.
